The Columbia Kennel club is a member club of the
American Kennel Club. Clubs are not only formed
to further the sport of purebred dogs, but
strive to promote and protect dogs in their
communities, share in educational programs,
sponsor training classes & health clinics, as
well as offer responsible breeder locator
services in their area or breed.
The Columbia Kennel Club is one of over 500
member clubs that are sanctioned/licensed to
hold events at which AKC titles can be earned.
Furthermore, each club appoints or elects a
delegate that attends the quarterly delegates
meeting and represents their community in the
eyes of the AKC. The club members own many
different breeds and come from many different
backgrounds. The one common goal among all of
them is to better the dog community in which
they live. You don’t have to own a purebred dog
to join. All you need is a willingness to get
involved.
If this sounds like something you would like to
learn more about we would strongly suggest you
visit one of our meetings.
